Did ya’ll know I am going to New Orleans? If you haven’t noticed I am just a little excited. I shared last week a recipe I adapted a bit from the original French Quarter favorite. It was a healthier version of Jambalaya. It did not lack any of those amazing flavors found in a traditional Creole Jambalaya. I also tried out beignets for the first time and it was just as dreamy as I imagine. I have a feeling it will be even more dreamy as I sit in a little cafe enjoying the sounds of a jazz band in New Orleans.
So, today I am sharing what I am going to be packing(might need to throw in a few pairs of stretchy pants). I have a few conferences that I will be attending and a formal event. The rest of the time I will be exploring all that Louisiana has to offer! I gathered all the clothing and accessories I will be packing and taking with me. Some items I already have and others are on my wish list. We will see if they make it into my shopping cart and then into my suitcase!
Target is my go-to for comfortable clothing. The Army green utility jacket is such a great piece from Target. It is a perfect transition from winter to spring. It will layer great over a tank or long sleeve and it won’t take up too much space in my suitcase. I also purchased the long sleeve floral blouse from Target. I love florals right now… if you have not noticed. This blouse will be great for the conference and will transition great into a night time look. Have you seen the BaubleBar line at Target? Those tassel earrings are from their line called SUGARFIX. I have not picked these up yet but they are on my list! I love how fun tassels make any outfit look(just not on your bra..just no). That floral dress….love! And it is from my new favorite store, Vici. If you have not checked this site out I promise you will love it! They get new pieces all the time. I did not get that floral dress pictured, but I got another one that is similar and equally as cute! I will need some more casual pieces when I am on the plane and walking around the French Quarter. I love the Grey Soft Twill top from Express! I have a few of these. They are so soft and are great when you want to be fashionable but also comfortable. The last clothing piece is that lace top from H&M. It is seriously so sophisticated, but also super feminine. It won’t wrinkle in my suitcase either, which is a plus! Lastly, I am on the hunt for a crossbody purse. I love my purse I use ever day but it is large. I will want to take something that won’t be heavy and I can walk around town for hours with. This crossbody purse from Rebecca Minkoff is soon cute, right! I found it while browsing Nordstrom and it is on my wish list for sure.
I am excited to get packing. This trip I am trying to really have all my outfits planned out. I always pack too much. I think it is great to try everything on and also have your accessories planned out. Let me know any packing tips you have. I definitely need them!
